The commencement of the 9th inspector General of Police has been announced by the Nigeria Police Taekwondo Association (NIPOTA).
It was introduced in 1995; the annual event is expected to hold at the Nigeria Police Badminton complex, Police College, Ikeja, Lagos come 27th to 30th July 2021.
The utmost aim of the competition is targeted at improving the relationship between the Police and members of the public say Stella Ebikefe the Chief Superintendent of police, a Taekwondo Gold medalist for the Nigeria Police.
The organizer has mandated the children and teens to compete on the 28th while adult players do theirs on Thursday and Friday 29 and 30 respectively.
Stella further said that obeying the covid-19 protocol, they will be no spectator although people from all walks of life within Nigeria and other African countries have always contributed to making the event colourful over the years.
She also said that the event tends to prove the point that Police Officers are friends of society.
The 9th IGB open championship is supported by the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, World Taekwondo, and the Nigeria Police force to encourage recreation and exercise to boost health.
